How are these stats tabulated, you ask?

NEW POINT SYSTEM

Start with a base of 100, then I apply the old point system to that: 10 for a clean run; 6 pts for a score of 95-99; 3 pts for 90-94; 1 pt for 85-89; plus 5 extra points for excellent and 2 extra points for open. Now the speed points come in for excellent B. If you are 5-9 seconds under course time you get 5 addditional points; 10 - 14seconds under - 10 extra points; 15 -19 seconds - 15 points, etc. The time is rounded up for calculations.

Clean run example:
Novice dog would have a score of 110 pts.
Open dog would be 112 pts.
Excellent A & B would be 115 pts.
Now for B speed points come in: course time is 40 seconds and dog ran it in 35 seconds that would add 5 points to the 115. If the dog's time were 35:46, no extra speed points would be added or 33:56 they would still only get the 5 points.

A consistent, frequent trialing dog still has the edge over a fast dog with this system as with the old point system.
