The GSPCA is the official representative of the German Shorthaired Pointer to the American Kennel Club. This non-profit organization is dedicated to encouraging and promoting the breeding of purebred German Shorthaired Pointers, and to doing all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection. As the Parent Club, the GSPCA is charged with doing all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trial, field trials and hunting tests.

- Eligibility to compete in National Field and Show Futurities
- Eligibility to have your dog's outstanding achievements listed in the Yearbook
- A subscription to the GSPCA magazine, Shorthair Journal
- Access to the online Members Only section including the GSP Health Database.
- A vote for officers, directors, and critical issues confronting the GSPCA
- A voice in AKC decisions affecting our breed, voted on by the GSPCA Delegate to AKC
How Can I join the GSPCA?
If you are in good standing with the American Kennel Club, you can join the GSPCA online or simply print, fill out the Membership Application and mail it with your annual dues to our Membership Chair.
