GSPCA Genetic Registry

A German Shorthaired Pointer can be registered with the German Shorthaired Pointer Genetic Registry if they have the following types of information for the dog to be registered.

These forms can be used to register dogs that have been DNA tested by Optigen for CD by U of Penn for LD, or by UC Davis for dilute color. This registry will include all results - normal, carrier, affected - with different numbers indicating genetic status.
Example DNA-01 CLR (clear), DNA-02 CR (carrier), DNA-03 AFF (affected)

  1. DNA Identification Certificate from AKC - copy sent with application
  2. Permanent Identification : Must include type of microchip & number OR Tattoo

Instructions for filing a DNA application:

  1. Fill out and sign the application*: CD LD or COLOR
  2. Submit a copy of the dog’s 4-generation pedigree.
  3. Submit a copy of dog’s AKC DNA Registry Certificate.
  4. Submit a copy of dog’s AKC registration.
  5. Submit a copy of the test certificate from Optigen or UC Davis.
  6. Send above to:
