Candidate for Corresponding Secretary

My name is Lynn Pettinato and I am running for the position of Corresponding Secretary.

A little bit about myself, I am married (for 23 years) and have 2 grown children, living at home. I am employed full time outside of the home with the same company for 17 years. I have been an owner of German Shorthaired Pointers for 11 years. I have been a member of the GSPCA for almost 10 years. Currently, I am the secretary for our local club, the GSPC of Northern Sacramento Valley. I have held that position for 3 years. I am active in our clubs events as well, chairing the two specialties we have. I am also the secretary for our spring hunt test, for the last two years. Currently, we have 3 GSP’s living with us; a nine year old male, a 4 ½ year old female, and a 9 month old ball of fire puppy girl.

My main concerns as an owner of the German Shorthaired Pointer are continuing to develop testing for genetic disorders in our breed. The health of our dogs is one of my top priorities. I am also very interested in maintaining the versatility of our breed. Our dogs are currently involved in hunt tests, field trials, conformation and obedience. We have worked on tracking with our dogs as well.

Lastly, I am very interested in bringing new people and juniors into the breed. My daughter was actively involved in junior showmanship with her GSP’s for 8 years and still shows our dogs. I look forward to continuing working on bringing more youths and new members to our breed. I enjoy hearing the new ideas that they bring.
