Candidate for South Central Director

I have been a very active member with our local Gulf Coast GSP Club in Houston, Texas since the late 70’s.  I have held the offices of President, Vice President, De-Snaking Chairman, On Point Editor, Field Trial Chairman, Board Member and Life Member.  I have thoroughly enjoyed training and campaigning GSPs for 30 plus years.  I have finished fourteen (14) Field Champions/Amateur Field Champions including ten (10) from our own breeding program.  I have had the pleasure of co-owning the 2001 and 2007 GSPCA Field Producing Dam, FC/AFC Laski’s Dandi Dixie Darling F-ROMXX, who produced sixteen (16) FC/AFC out of only two litters.  I have competed in AKC field trials as well as NGSPA Regional Championships all over the country and have had the pleasure of meeting and becoming friends with several other members of not only the GSPCA, but various other AKC breed clubs throughout the country.  Additionally, not only have I judged numerous AKC and Regional trials and/or championships, but I have had the honor and pleasure of judging almost all of the AKC Pointing Breeds National Open or Amateur Championships including the AKC Gun Dog Championship.  I judged the GSPCA National Gun Dog Championship in 2004 and 2007 and judged the NGSPA National Gun Dog Championship in 2010.  I have been blessed to be able to enjoy so many  nice dogs through out the years of all pointing breeds.  If I have not already met you along the way somewhere, I look forward to your acquaintance.

I have had the honor of being a board member of the GSPCA as the South Central Director for the last four years.  I have to admit that coming into the GSPCA Board four years ago I did not have a lot of background in the other arenas outside of field trialing other than my 30 plus years of local GSP club issues, field trials and attempting to show one of our GSPs in the early 90’s.   In fact, when I was originally asked to run as the South Central Director I was told that the GSPCA Board needed some balance from someone with a background and who was involved with field trials in order to have a voice from the field prospective.  I feel I have contributed to the board by exhibiting reasonable, good judgment, well-grounded and prudent input on all issues.  In addition, I have learned a great deal about the other aspects of our GSPCA Club.  I believe it is productive that our GSPCA board members come from as many different arenas in our club as possible.  I believe the board’s job is to let our committees run their projects/events to the best of their abilities and we as a board should be a shoulder to lean on when they need assistance and guidance in finances and a second set of eyes for approvals.   I have made that commitment to the GSPCA members and I look for your support in doing the same.  I thank you for your time and consideration in voting for me.
